dc.description.abstract | La cocaína es un estimulante del sistema nervioso central que inhibe la recaptación de y además estimula el sistema neuroendocrino. Se ha encontrado que es una sustancia inmunomoduladora que puede alterar el funcionamiento de varios tipos de células que participan en la respuesta inmune. El mecanismo por el cual esta droga provoca sus efectos sobre las células inmunológicas aún no se ha establecido, pero se sugieren dos mecanismos: Uno directo mediado por la droga en sí y otro indirecto a través de sustancias neuroendocrinas. El presente trabajo se realizó con el fm de determinar el efecto que producen en forma simultánea la cocaína y las catecolaminas (noradrenalina, adrenalina y dopamina) sobre el funcionamiento de los neutrófilos y de los linfocitos T humanos. También se investigó si la cocaína se une a estas células en estado de reposo y estimuladas y si la unión es específica. Finalmente se trató de definir si la cocaína afecta el funcionamiento de los macrófagos. | spa |
