    Evaluation of the efficacy of intramuscular versus intramammary treatment of subclinical Streptococcus agalactiae mastitis in dairy cows in Colombia

    The present study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of intramuscular and intramammary treatments for Sptreptococcus agalactie sunclinical mastitis in a randomized controlled trial. Efficacy was evaluated by the bacteriological cure risk for an initial treatment and re-treatment of refractory cases. Treatment programs, in conjunction with other management strategies, ca ¿n play a substantial role in reducing prevalence of Streptococcus agalactiae and these results suggest that the overall cure risk for the intramammary product was significantly greater than the intramuscular product.
