Publication Construcción de una estrategia técnica y comercial para la implementación de un programa de producción de material clonal de E. pellita para la Orinoquia(2014) Nieto Rodríguez, Víctor Manuel; Giraldo Charría, Diana Lucía; Borralho Gonçalves, Nuno Manuel; Gasca Andrade, Guido; Sarmiento Oviedo, Monica BibianaPublication Estimación indirecta de densidad por el uso de “Pilodyn” en Eucalyptus pellita F. Muell.(2014-07) Nieto Rodríguez, Víctor Manuel; Giraldo Charría, Diana Lucía; Sarmiento Oviedo, Monica Bibiana; Borralho Gonçalves, Nuno ManuelThe results are presented for Pylodin use as an alternative method for non-direct measurement of density (in situ) on 10 best clones of Eucalyptus pellita F. Muell. in the company Reforestadora de la Costa in the Colombian Orinoquia. To validate the results obtained through Pylodin, samples from non-destructive and destructive tree method were obtained and processed, cores and discs respectively. The results are expressed in kg/m3 this allow a representative value for the tree variable. Both, cores and discs were processed in the laboratory where green volume was obtained by the immersion and water displacement method, and the dry weight, in accordance with the Tappi standard T258 om- 11. The high density of the species was confirmed by the values obtained for disks and cores, 579.5 kg/m3 and 530.2 kg/m3 respectively. Heritability values obtained for the three methods are quite close (between 0.47 and 0.55) indicating that the use of Pylodin can result in an efficient strategy for determining the density of individuals or clonal averages. The phenotypic and genetic correlations between Pylodin and direct methods support the approach of alternative use as an initial estimate for the density in situ.
